While The Fun Pimps resecured the console publishing rights for 7 Days to Die towards the end of 2019, no update has been given in the status of the console ports, and it is believed that the current generation ports will see no further updates. Losing their console publisher in late 2017 has led Ps4 and Xbox One 7 Days to Die builds falling over two years behind the PC build. No one could have foreseen the collapse of Telltale Games/Telltales Publishing, and Fun Pimps had no reason to expect the unexpected. This lack of optimisation is to be expected when dealing with an alpha product, but due to the 7+ year-long alpha of 7 Days to Die it’s challenging to draw the line exactly when Fun Pimps should address this.ħ Days to Die has endured hard times, not of their own making during their venture into the console market. I have run my own servers for 5+ years, and I have never seen any survival game tax a server as much as 7 Days to Die. The player base is thriving for a title that has been in development for 7+ years, with a monthly CCU average of 19k and spikes of up to 32k its one of the healthiest survival games of 2020.ħ Days to Die, is not without its problems.ħ Days to Die suffers from poor optimisation that affects both the client and server executables.
It’s not unusual for a 7 Days to Die major update to bring 300+ features and quality of life changes, as well as major mechanical and graphical upgrades.įun pimps have chosen an uncommon method of delivering updates, but it’s one that seems to work for them, and the 7 Days to Die community as a whole.ħ Days to Die currently has a 92% positive 30 day average (from 2102 reviews) and an 84% positive score overall, from 96,000+ reviews. Is 7 Days to Die, another early access scam or are we looking at something entirely different? 7 Days to Die, is not a Scam.ħ Days to Die has received 19 major version updates during its seven years of early access, excluding the frantic first few months of development which saw five major versions, updates are released biannually, and bring a massive amount of changes and improvements. 7 Days to Die, feels like it has been in development forever, with over seven years in alpha.
